Organic and natural makeup on a budget
When it comes to caring for our beauty and the health of our skin, quality products are a must. The last thing we want is for the daily “stuff” we put on our face and body to contain parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde and other toxic ingredients.
Unfortunately, that’s often just what we get with most store-bought and even high-end department beauty brands, most of which will eventually break down the integrity of our skin and cause damage. The good news is that there are plenty of organic and all natural makeup brands that are actually good for our skin and affordable to boot!
Now, as a health-conscious mama, I would love to say I create all my own makeup and bathroom products foraged from my very own garden, but alas, I’m just not that crunchy (I’m only *scrunchy* after all). Because let’s face it, sometimes, ain’t nobody got time for that!
Instead, you’ll find 20 of my absolute favorite natural, organic and affordable beauty items. Every single one for $20-something each or less. There’s simply no reason to slather inferior products on that gorgeous face of your’s lady!

20 organic or natural beauty must-haves for $20 or less
Many of these brands can be found at retailers such as Sprouts and Vitamin Cottage, but I’ve actually found most of my must-haves are cheaper when purchased through Amazon. Plus Amazon will give you 20% off your first order for these items AND if you have Amazon Prime [ Try Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial ] you can get FREE two-day shipping! I don’t know about you, but that’s a huge value in my book!
For the face
Pacifica Concealer. This concealer uses coconut oil as it’s base and it works surprisingly well. The only caveat I’ve noticed is that you’ll need a good powder to set it and may need to reapply the powder during the day. I wouldn’t recommend this for oily skin, however, it works well with dry skin. Pacifica is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. They also offer a recycling program where, upon request, they will send you a prepaid shipping label for you to send empty containers back for recycling #nice
100% Pure Luminating Cream. 100% Pure is my absolute go-to when it comes to organic makeup. I LOVE them! Most products I’ve tried visibly make my skin appear smoother and brighter even with modest use – that includes products not actually meant for this purpose such as this illuminating cream #win
Ecotools blender sponges. The Ecotools blender sponge is made with recycled materials and is latex free. What I love most about this blender tool is it’s attached handle – perfect for keeping the sponge itself (not to mention your fingers!) clean.
Pacifica Beauty Blushious. Pacifica has several natural colors to choose from for all skin types. You may need to build this blush depending on how bold you like it, but it melts well into the skin to provide a natural look.
Ecotools Retractable Kabuki brush. I used to store my makeup brushes in Ziploc bags to keep them clean in my makeup purse, but this retractable brush with lid is so much better (and prettier!). LOVE.
100% Pure Vitamin A and CoQ10 Wrinkle Smoothing Night Cream. This cream glides on smooth, absorbs beautifully and smells absolutely amazing without irritating my skin. After several uses, I can visibly see a difference in my fine lines. 100% Pure offers a smaller size for just $16. Plus a little goes a long way!
For the eyes
Mineral Fusion Liquid Eyeliner. This eyeliner glides on well and STAYS (it’s staying power is almost too amazing, lol). Mineral Fusion is EWG (Environmental Working Group) verified as safe with good manufacturing practices.
Pacifica Natural Eye Pencil. I’ve noticed that many drug-store brand eye pencils are very hard and snag my delicate lower lash line #notcool . I prefer this natural product hands down. It glides on smooth and has fantastic staying power without smudging.
Gabriel Cosmetics Eye Line Pencil. Great colors, staying power and doesn’t snag my delicate eye area.
Pacifica Eyelining Gel. My eyes are pretty picky. They seem to water and fester with the smallest provocation, especially when it comes to unnatural eye makeup products. This pot of soft eyeliner doesn’t bother at all and gives a nice smoky eye look. You’ll need a thin brush applicator to use.
100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Eyeshadow. This is a creamy, buildable eyeshadow with surprising staying power. My favorite colors are Quartz and Fuji – they have a beautiful shimmer to them perfect for layering on other colors.
Gabriel Cosmetics Vegan Eyeshadow. This eyeshadow is a powder, yet feels creamy, goes on smooth and stays well. I like to use it as a base before applying other shimmery eyeshadows over it.
Pacifica Mascara. This mascara glides on smooth and stays well with no smudging later. It doesn’t curl my lashes as well as I would prefer, but for a natural product, it’s still worth it.
100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Ultra Lengthening Mascara. Back when I was using drug-store mascara brands, I found that my eyelashes would fall out in a disturbing number each day (aaaahh!!!). However, 100% Pure’s mascara not only lengthens and curls my lashes well but appears to strengthen them too. Which means less lash fall-out! Yay!
100% Pure Bright Eyes Mask. Long night? No sleep? 100% Pure eye masks are a lifesaver! Apply these caffeinated mini gel masks right to your under-eyes for depuffing in minutes. I like to put them in the fridge for even greater cooling benefits.
100% Pure Coffee Bean Eye Cream. (Can you tell I love this brand??) This.Stuff.Works. Seriously. It noticeably lightens my dark under-eye circles in just ONE use (yes, you read that right!). Plus it works well to lessen puffiness and smooth fine lines. I can’t live without this eye cream! (If you want to give it a try, 100% Pure offers a smaller size for just $15).
For the lips
Pacifica Enlightened Gloss Mineral Lip Shine. Pacifica lip gloss comes in 5 shades (Opal is my favorite!). It’s thick and luxurious while staying put well. The only drawback is that it’s quite sticky (but I guess most lipglosses are like that).
Badger lip balm. I’ve never been one for lipstick (which is why I can’t really recommend one here, unfortunately), I much prefer the moisturizing effects of lip balms and glosses. Badger is an all-time favorite.
Burt’s Bees Gloss Lip Crayon. Creamy and not at all messy. I use this along with a balm or gloss and it looks fantastic.
For the body
100% Pure Nourishing Body Cream. A little goes a long way with this lotion; I’ve found these 8oz bottles last a long time (SO worth it). I’ve even used it on my face when I run out of facial moisturizer and it works great without any irritation! #doubleduty Vanilla Bean, Honey Almond, and Grapefruit are my faves.
100% Pure Butter Soap. These soaps smell absolutely divine, lather up well and leave your skin feeling oh so soft. Plus they’re infused with herbs and essential oils!
Mineral Fusion nail polish. Many pretty shades to choose from. Mineral fusion is toluene, camphor, DBP, formaldehyde, and butyl phthalate free.
100% Pure nail polish. Well, of course, I was going to mention 100% Pure silly! These nail polishes are free of all common carcinogens (like the ones listed above) and come in a large variety of gorgeous colors (even blues and greens!). This polish glides on smooth and remains chip-free for some time.
Technically that’s 23 natural and organic beauty must-haves for $20-some dollars or less – you got three bonus items! ?
